Finasteride (oral)
Finasteride is FDA approved for male-pattern hair loss. It lowers DHT, the hormone that shrinks hair follicles.
- Women who are or may become pregnant must not handle crushed or broken tablets. Finasteride can cause abnormal development of a male fetus. It is not for use by women or children.
- Sexual side effects (decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, ejaculation problems) occur in a small number of men and in rare cases have continued after stopping the medication.
- Depression and mood changes have been reported. Tell your prescriber about any history of mood disorders and stop and call if your mood changes.
- Report breast lumps, pain, nipple discharge, or other breast changes.
- Finasteride lowers PSA levels. Tell any doctor ordering a PSA test that you take it.

Minoxidil (topical and compounded)
Topical minoxidil is FDA approved for hair regrowth. Compounded topical combinations that include minoxidil are prepared by our licensed compounding pharmacy and are not FDA approved.
- Temporary increased shedding in the first weeks is common as new growth begins.
- Scalp irritation, dryness, or itching; unwanted hair growth where the product spreads (keep it off the face and wash hands after use).
- Stop and call your prescriber if you develop chest pain, rapid heartbeat, faintness, dizziness, sudden unexplained weight gain, or swelling of the hands or feet. These are signs the medication is being absorbed into the body.
- Do not use on a broken, inflamed, or infected scalp. Not for use by women in the men's strength, or by anyone under 18.

How long until I see results?
Most men see less shedding within 2 to 3 months and visible regrowth at 3 to 6 months. Results depend on staying on treatment; stopping usually reverses gains over 6 to 12 months.
Is topical finasteride FDA approved?
No. Oral finasteride is FDA approved. Topical finasteride, including our compounded blend with minoxidil, is compounded by our licensed pharmacy and is not FDA approved. Some men choose topical to reduce systemic exposure; your prescriber will discuss the trade-offs.
Will finasteride affect my sex drive?
A small percentage of men report decreased libido or erectile problems. Most cases resolve on stopping, though persistent cases have been reported. Tell your prescriber about any change.
Can women use these?
This programme is for men. Finasteride must not be handled by women who are or may become pregnant.
